There has been new research on the benefits of coffee that by just thinking of coffee it can boost up the brain.

Drinking coffee has become our solution for a quick boost in the morning, and at any time of the day. The secret of the magical revitalization provide by coffee is no longer secret where that main reason why coffee keeps us boosted it is because of its chemical compounds called caffeine.

The new study conducted at the University of Toronto seeks to find out whether by just simple exposure to details can affect the psychological part of individuals to remind them of coffee. And by conducting the study, it turns out to be the answer is yes”.

Professor Sam Maglio, a collaborator at the University of Toronto Scarborough’s Department of Management and the Rotman School of Management, both in Ontario, Canada, was adamant in investigating coffee and its psychological effects to confirm whether there is to be observed.

“We wanted to see if there was an association between coffee and arousal, such that if we simply exposed people to coffee-related cues, their physiological arousal would increase, as it would if they had actually [drunk] coffee,” Maglio explains. The study’s results appear in the journal Consciousness and Cognition.

The researchers administered four different tests, to observe how the participants respond to coffee and other caffeinated beverages. The participants for this study is from the Eastern and Western cultures where the researchers discovered that there is a big difference between the two groups. Those who are from Eastern culture has a slow response due to their lifestyle where coffee is not quite pandemic.

The effects of caffeine on one’s body cannot feel immediately, whereas it takes four to five hours before the individual can sense the effects of caffeine on the body.

However, too much caffeine can also lead to a negative result in the body where an individual can develop insomnia, shakiness, dizziness, headaches, and rapid or abnormal heart rate due to too much caffeine intake. Coffee is a powerful antioxidant and has a lot of health benefits, but always keep in mind that too much coffee can also be dangerous to one’s health, and others are subconsciously more sensitive to caffeine where it needs doctors advice before taking such beverages.

Base on this research, the culture of individuals greatly affects the psychological factor whether by just thinking coffee it can boost up the brain. In the two groups conducted in the study, the Western culture shows the psychological impact of just simply viewing something associated with coffee is interestingly triggered its psyche and keep one’s alert like drinking cup of coffee.

“In North America, we have this image of a prototypical executive rushing off to an important meeting with a triple espresso in their hand,” says Maglio. “There’s this connection between drinking caffeine and arousal that may not exist in other cultures.”
