“Coffee is Life” this is what coffee lovers, coffee addicts, coffee aficionados and coffee drinkers say to their daily cup of Joe. Well. I strongly agree with you because that is what exactly I feel every time I drink my morning brew.

Most of us remember that first feeling of bitterness, unpleasant taste, too hot, too sweet and tastes terrible to our first cup of coffee. But as we continuously sip the bittersweet taste we overcome all the unpleasant feeling and give us a wonderful feeling that we can never walk away from it.

Coffee is like a magical experience or should I say addiction? No, a magical experience is a lot better, right? Every time we drink coffee, it just not gives us energy boost but gives us unexplainable pleasure, a delight to every sip, self-fulfilment and a comfort that gives us happiness.

According to research coffee stimulates the release of the neurotransmitter dopamine. Dopamine produces the euphoria and pleasant feelings that people often associate with their first cup of coffee in the morning. It’s a fact that coffee is the most consumed psychoactive substances in the world because it’s like an instant drug that gives us alertness and calmness in our body and brain.

As what French novelist Honore de Balzac says “This coffee plunges into the stomach…the mind is aroused, and ideas pour forth like the battalions of the Grand Army on the field of battle…. Memories charge at full gallop…the light cavalry of comparisons deploys itself magnificently; the artillery of logic hurry in with their train of ammunition; flashes of wit pop up like sharp-shooters.” The statement of Balzac’s sounds freaky, but it’s the reality this is what we really experienced in our cup of coffee. Our brain gains a small level of addiction that goes beyond the simple enhancement of one neurotransmitter system.

When we drink our first cup of coffee, all we wanted is more because we loved the amazing feeling it gives to our body. As we continue sips the pleasure our liver compensated for the additional chemicals and becoming more efficient at metabolizing the caffeine. Now our body and brain start to adjust like a superhero, you will now start to feel the need of more coffee to achieve the same level of arousal and vigilance. As the coffee chemicals or should I say caffeine works on your brain, a new biochemical will be introduced and an entirely new level of pleasure to your morning cup of java. So, as much as you don’t want to drink more coffee in this state, it is harder now to avoid that third and fourth cup of coffee.

Coffee makes us happy every sip makes us want more than one cup full of coffee. This is because the caffeine reaches our brain, and tickle our virtually every reward system that causes to makes us feel alive and happy. Hidden along that coffee is a chemical that takes over our brain and mimicking the actions of cocaine and marijuana. Once you drink your first cup of Joe there is no turning back now, so, go ahead and have another cup now.
