This coffee is a traditional hot coffee drink to natives of Turin Italy and was called “Bicerin”. Made of espresso, chocolate and whole milk served layered in a small rounded cup.
Let’s Start Making!
Ingredients
!/2 cup of strong coffee – To get a strong kick of coffee, brew your coffee twice harder than you usually do.
1/2 cup of hot chocolate – don’t forget the star of the show your chocolate. A chocolate bar, chocolate syrup or chocolate powder will do.
1/4 cup of heavy cream. Well, the original recipe is a whole milk, but let’s make this extra creamy and special by using a heavy cream.
Chocolate Shavings – this is optional but we can’t get enough of chocolate so, why not have some extra sprinkle of chocolate shaving on top of your coffee chocolate.
1.Refrigerate your mason jar, in the preparation of your cream topping. (skipped this step if you opted for a whipped cream.)
2.Brew a strong cup of coffee.
3.While waiting for your coffee to brew, it is time now to make your hot chocolate. Any type of chocolate will be perfectly fine for this coffee variation. If you opted for a chocolate bar be sure that it is melted. For chocolate powder sure to dissolve into a hot water and if you want a shortcut you can use a chocolate syrup for it. Just make it sure that the consistency of the chocolate is creamy.
4.Get a mug and pour the hot chocolate at the bottom about 1/3rd of your mug.
5.To even distribute the coffee into your mug, pour the coffee over the back of a spoon filling about 2/3rd full of the mug.
6.Now it’s time to put your heavy cream into your chilled mason jar, close it and shake well until the cream thickens .
7.Using again the back of a spoon, pour your cream and filling completely with cream the top of your mug.
8.Finally for finishing touches, you can use a chocolate syrup to drip on top or shred a chocolate bar to sprinkle on top. (for extra flavoring sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon on top.)
This coffee chocolate is best served when hot. Perfect to make for a coffee party or if you want to be fancy, you can make this to satisfy the chocolate cravings of yours while enjoying a perfect cup of coffee.
