The weekend is over and what better way to start the week is to have coffee. So, for our 5th day of the 12 days of Christmas Coffee, we will be making a refreshing combination of apple and coffee.
Apples is an all year round fruit, but it has special meaning during Christmas. “In the middle ages, it was customary for apples to be hung on Christmas trees as part of annual Christmas Eve church play performances.” In Germany, Christmas trees are a yearly tradition to have in every household because they believed that the tree represents the “tree of life,” and during the festivity, Christmas trees are customarily had been decorated with edible treats– fruits, especially apples, and nuts.
So, for today’s 12 days of Christmas recipe, we will incorporate apples to our coffee. So grab now your gears and let’s start making a Christmas Apple Coffee.
Christmas Apple Coffee Recipe
INGREDIENTS
- 4 cl applesauce
- 2 cl caramel sauce
- 1 shot (3 cl) of Espresso
- Pinch of cinnamon
- 2 dl milk
- Whipped cream
Preparation
- Measure the applesauce, caramel sauce, and cinnamon into a glass/mug around 250 ml in volume.
- Prepare the espresso and pour it into the glass with hot milk.
- Top with whipped cream, caramel sauce, and cinnamon.
- Serve and enjoy!

What food is to best pair with this coffee blend?
This coffee blend is sweet because of the applesauce, caramel sauce, and the added extra whipped cream on top, that is why it is already good to drink alone and drink it as an after-dinner beverage. However, if you want something to pair with your Christmas Apple Coffee a gingerbread is an ideal choice because it can give an extra spice, aroma, and memorable taste when paired with coffee.
